1. Who gets to vote to elect the Judge of LaPorte Superior Court 1? The Judge of LaPorte Superior Court 1 is elected in a countywide election by all of the registered voters of LaPorte County. This means that any registered voter of LaPorte County will be able to cast a vote to determine who will be elected the next Judge.
2. How do I register to vote in LaPorte County? You can register in person at the LaPorte County's Voter Registration office, any library, a township trustee's office or any Bureau of Motor Vehicles office.
3. What are the most important qualities you believe a judge must possess? Judges must remain impartial and make decisions based on the law. They must work hard, and maintain the highest ethical standards both professionally and personally. Most of all they should love what they do, never stop learning and respect the community they serve.
4. If elected, what goals will you set as Judge, Superior Court
#1? Continue to make Superior Court #1 more efficient and less
costly through the use of technology, skilled staff and innovative methods
of case management. Expand the re-entry court project to include support
and close supervision of all offenders returning from prison to our community.
